Once you book your trip, we take care of the rest! We meet you are the location and have all your gear ready.  We'll even snap photos of you and your group and share them with you after your trip so you don't have to worry about losing your phone or camera!

Small group sizes

We keep our group sizes small (no more than ten) to give you a better experience. If you book 5 or more boards, your trip will. be private!

Professionalism

From our equipment to our guides we strive for the best! All our guides are professionally trained in paddleboard instruction with years of experience guiding to keep your group safe and having fun on the water. 

Our equipment are top-of-the line Red Paddle Co boards to ensure top performance and stability. Our personal flotation devices are Astral life jackets with a low profile to ensure comfort while paddling.

Summersville Lake - A beautiful scenic lake with towering sandstone cliffs
Kanawha Falls - A flat section of river below a river-wide waterfall system
New River Gorge - Paddle under the New River Gorge Bridge! Not for complete novice and water level dependent. 

2 Hour Trip

About our trip:
When you book you give your preference of location. The locations are water-level dependent and may change, we will keep you updated on any changes.

We meet at the location and start off with an on-land introduction to paddleboarding. We then get on the water where we assist in getting you comfortable on your board. From there we can go explore the beautiful location. Swimming, playing and jump rocks are encouraged! This trip is suitable for first-time paddleboarders and advanced paddleboarders alike!

Children ages 3 and up who aren't big enough to paddle their own board can ride along with an adult! Ages 3-5 are Free!

About our trip:
We meet at Summersville Lake and start off with an on-land introduction to paddleboarding. We then get on the water where we assist in getting you comfortable on your board. From there we can go explore the great locations Summersville Lake has to offer. Swimming, playing and jump rocks are encouraged! About half way through our trip we stop for a snack and sparkling water. This trip is suitable for first-time paddleboarders and advanced paddleboarders alike!

Children ages 3 and up who aren't big enough to paddle their own board can ride along with an adult! Ages 3-5 are Free!

Sunset Paddle

NRG Paintball

Intro to White Water

1 person: $199

Are you interested in trying out some whitewater on your paddlebaord? This is the perfect place to start. Learn about river safety, reading water, SUP specific safety on the river, and SUP techniques for moving water.

This trip takes place at Stone Clif to Dun Glenn on the Upper New River. We start with an on-land learning session about river safety and equipment. We then hit the water and work on our moving water SUP skills at the base of the rapid by the put-in. After learning our new skills we will head down stream and put our moves to the test through two small rapids/ripples. ​

Maximum of 5 participants. Typically between 2.5-3 hours

SUP Yoga

$300 for up to four participant
$40/pp over four

Do you have a group of friends or a Yoga studio that is interested in trying SUP Yoga? SUP Yoga classes include boards, paddles, life vest, anchors, a certified Yoga Instructor as well as a paddleboard instructor. All SUP Yoga classes are held at scenic Plum Orchard Lake. 

Our SUP Yoga trip starts with an introduction to paddleboarding from our SUP instructor. Learn the basics to get going and feel confident on your board. From there we will paddle around the lake to our secluded Yoga location and drop Anchors. Our Yoga instructor will then take over leading a 45min SUP Yoga class. After the class there is often some time to relax or paddle around a bit more before we head to back to shore. This class is suitable for a levels of paddleboarding and yoga. 

Our Locations

Summersville Lake

 ​​​​​​Summersville Lake, famous for it's crystal clear water and towering cliffs is a wonderful place to explore via SUP. Rock jumps (under 6tf by USACE law), a trickeling waterfall, and golden nutall sandstone cliffs to scramble up from the water make this sport a natural playground for the whole family. Weekdays or weekend mornings are best for this location as it is a popular place for speedboats and pontoon boats and the wake can make things a bit exciting.

Kanawha Falls

A true hidden gem, Kanawha Falls is full of surprises. The beautiful falls views from the parking area are just a small taste of the views we have in store! Don't let the moving water of the river deter you, this spot is calm and great for beginners. There is a large flat water pool to help get you comfortable on the board. We can take a break at a nice sandy beach and then go explore the smaller falls. Depending on water levels there are different activities such as rock slides, jump rocks, and swimming under waterfalls!​ This location is water level dependent. If levels are too high we can not operate trips here and would go to Summersville Lake instead. 

New River Gorge Bridge

Paddle under the iconic New River Gorge Bridge, located in the heart of the NEWEST NATIONAL PARK! Enjoy the flat moving water up stream of the bridge on the New River. Learn how to attain up river and play around in the friendly current all while enjoying the spectacular scenery. ​​This is moving water on a river - some experience paddleboarding is a plus. Helmets are required for this activity due to moving water and rocks in the river. Minimum age of 14. Maximum group size is 5 participants. This location is restricted to specific flows. If you are interested in booking this trip you must do so through River Expeditions.

Cancelation Policy / Weather

Life happens and we understand! 
If you have to cancel more than 4 days from your scheduled trip you will receive a refund minus the nonrefundable credit card booking fees or the option to rebook your trip. If canceled less than 4 but more than 24 hours before you may receive a 50% refund or the option to reschedule your trip. There is no refund if canceled within 24 hour of your trip or if you no show.

Trips are rain or shine, but we do try our best to work with you to find the best weather window for the day if it works for you. We do not run trips if there is lightning within 10miles. If a trip is canceled by Mountain Surf Paddle Sports due to weather or minimum not met you will receive a FULL refund, or the option to reschedule.
